Who is Mike Hayslip?

I’ve been in the IT game for over 25 years specializing in Security and Operations – I obtained my CISSP and GSEC Certs in 2012.

I was a big fan of AWS and started to dabble in Cloud Infrastructure and was following the Cloud landscape very closely when I decided to get certified in AWS in 2017/2018,  obtaining the AWS Security Specialist certificate and the AWS Solutions Architect/Developer/SysOps Associate certificates.

My day job is as a Sr. Manager of Information Security for the University of Phoenix. While earning my BS degree I served as an Infrastructure Manager at Texas Instruments, before moving to the Phoenix area where I held the position of Global Information Security Manager at Microchip Technology Inc. More recently, I did Cloud Engineering work for a local Scottsdale office of a Seattle based consulting firm and previous to that, I was an Information Security Consultant for Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) where I responsible for implementing a suite of Information Security products for customers all over North America.

I’m a photographer too. I shoot mostly landscapes and fine art stuff (I’ve won a couple of awards), but I’ve also
recently dabbled into portraits. I like tennis, sci-fi anything, and the lifting weights (mostly powerlifting).

My Photography

I’ve shot a lot. These are some of my favorites:

I’m also the tech support for a boutique-marketing firm my wife started in about 2007. She specializes in marketing for small to medium businesses and offers a wide range of services.  910 West works with clients throughout the Metro Phoenix area, they focus on businesses in the East Valley, Gilbert, Chandler, Mesa, and Tempe. They have a skilled team of creative professionals and an extensive network of vendor partners to meet just about any need.
